Clients Frequently Asked Questions

General

  1. What makes Sophilabs standout from the pack?

As a company founded by three engineers our company’s DNA is software engineering. We know what it takes to produce top-quality code and the best practices to follow. Our Project Managers work closely with your product owner and our engineers to ensure the team understands the big picture. This support allows our engineers to create additional value, such as suggesting improvements to your roadmap, recommendations on process improvements, anticipating issues, and ensuring the best tools and technologies are being used.

Communication and transparency are key ingredients in our secret sauce. You will have monthly meetings with your Account Manager to make sure we’re meeting your expectations, and to help detect any knowledge or capacity gaps in your roadmap that we can help with. We also offer a proprietary time tracking report which is linked to your monthly invoice. This report helps you understand exactly where and what our team has been investing their time in. We understand that the only way for us to succeed is if your business succeeds.

  2. How much time can I expect you to take to fill a position?

On average, we can provide you with a list of qualified engineers within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the profile and seniority of the engineer you’re looking for. This could potentially take longer if we need to find an expert in a niche technology.

  3. Who owns the legal rights to the work produced by Sophilab's engineers?

You do. All work created by our engineers falls under your intellectual property.

  4. Are there any upfront contract fees or costs?

No, there are no upfront fees or costs associated with our service. The first invoice would be submitted after the initial two-week trial period has been completed.

  5. How does the risk-free trial period work?

Every engineer who starts on your project will begin with a risk-free 2 week trial period. At the end of this period, you will have the choice to continue with them or not, you will only be billed for their time if you want to continue.

  6. Who are your typical customers?

Our customers range from small startups all the way to fortune 500 companies. We provide a flexible service that can be tailored to your specific needs.

Quality Assurance

  1. How do you ensure the quality of your engineers?

We have an extensive hiring process that includes online tests, multiple interviews, and technical tests administered by our in-house engineers. This process allows us to discover the engineer's personality, communication, professionalism, and technical skills. Ensuring that we match the best candidate for the project.

We also created our own proprietary smart tests that work with a large pool of questions. As the test taker goes answering the questions they will receive more difficult questions when they provide correct answers, and less difficult questions when they provide wrong answers. This allows us to pinpoint with great accuracy the exact skills set and experience of the test taker.

  2. What happens if I’m not satisfied with Sophilab’s Engineer?

We have several solutions to offer under these circumstances. If there are certain areas you would like for them to improve on we will begin a 30-day performance improvement plan. During this time we will assign them a mentor who would be an expert in the field that requires improvement. They will also be accompanied by our Project Manager who will be assisting them through this process. At the end of this period, we can measure the success of the program and review others' opinions if necessary. Our priority is to make sure that our engineer is the right fit for your team.

Location

  1. Where are Sophilabs’ Engineers located?

Our engineers are located throughout Latin America, which allows them to work US business hours.

  2. Do your engineers work from home?

Yes, we provide all our engineers with everything they need to create a comfortable and productive home office.

Payment

  1. How can I pay you?

We currently accept ACH, bank wires, and checks.

  2. What are your payment terms?

In general, we send out invoices on the 1st and 16th of every month, with NET 10 payment terms.

We’d love to work with you.
